Once you’ve got that set up, Asset will restart itself and you should be able to use your player (PS3 or Xbox 360.

If you are using Asset UPnP version 3, select 256kbps MP3 streaming and it will work with PS3, Xbox 360, and Android DLNA clients.

I could have converted them to FLACS but my intellectual curiosity got the better of me. If you are using Asset UPnP version 2, select LPCM streaming and it works with both PS3 and Xbox.

I usually use FLACS without any problems, but I was given some material in Wavpack, & this made me curious as to why the tags were wrong. I am left with one album I still have a minor problem with the track lengths not being correctly read, but this is not significant. LMS is clearly not quite as tolerant with APE tag handling as some of the other streamers. I reduced the size of the JPEG images & was then able to get a proper scan, where the album names were correctly recognised. It reported excessive tag size, which was caused primarily by the album art files being too large, so the tags were not correctly logged in the library scan. I re-scanned the files while watching the scanning log in LMS. The tag reading will fail.Yes, you are right. So if there exists for example embedded cover art that exceeds the limit Limit is 8KB but have seen files that are larger (Bug 15324) Include/ape.h:#define APE_MAXIMUM_TAG_SIZE 100 * 1024 // recommended One possible problem related to APE tags could be in Audio::Scan. If only LMS would handle APEv2 tags in Wavpack files properly! wv files display the APE tags perfectly well on my phone using Poweramp, on the computer in Foobar2000, & on the Cambridge Audio NP30 streamed from the computer via Asset UPnP.

Is this a normal restriction in the handling of Wavpack files by LMS? If it is, I am rather surprised, as other streaming software & hardware has no problem at all with the APEv2 tags. I am talking Classical music here, so this is a nuisance. The tags are then readable, though obviously limited. I found that I had to reduce the size of the tags & the artwork for LMS to correctly read them due to the ID3v1 character limit. I find, with these files, that the only tags that can be read by LMS are the ID3v1 versions. The problem has been the size of the tags (inc. The most common release is release 3, with over 98 of all installations currently using this.

I have narrowed this problem down somewhat. Asset UPnP is a software program developed by Illustrate. Is there a particular problem with Wavpack compatibility in LMS, or have I missed something. I have no problem with FLACS or mp3s as regards to tagging - it is only the Wavpack ones. Nevertheless, Asset UPnP comes loaded with practical and approachable options to help you share an audio library across multiple devices. On the other hand, it hasn't been updated for a long time.

Its impact on the overall performance of the PC was minimal, since it didn't hog CPU and RAM. We haven't come across any unpleasant surprises in our tests as far as stability is concerned, thanks to the fact that Asset didn't hang, crash or display error messages. The program runs silently in the background, automatically identifies new and changed tracks, and updates its audio library accordingly. Plus, you can specify the maximum bits, frequency, channels and MP3 bit rate. Asset is capable of combining duplicate and similar artists, as well as of normalizing the volume level of multiple songs or entire albums. Tracks can be browsed by artist, album, title, composer, genre, style, dynamic browsing mode, Internet radio, playlists, and advanced search. The audio library can be filled with as many different directories as you want, and it's possible to exclude any file types supported by Asset, such as AAC, AIF, APE, ASF, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MPA, MPEG, OGG, WAV and WMA. You can also rescan the audio library as well as edit advanced settings. Set up the audio library to shareĪt startup, it's necessary to select the Asset running mode (local account, service or disabled). It supports song artwork, online radio, dynamic playlists and ReplayGain for volume normalization, among other features. Asset UPnP is a DLNA-compatible audio server that allows you to share media content between multiple devices.
